What We Do!

What is Team Restorations?

Team Restorations engages the community through a team approach. The TR internship program reaches out to youth in our community from a wide variety of demographics, with an emphasis on helping those considered "at risk". We want to help people find a better path to follow in life. As our interns learn and work together towards finishing a restoration project, it is our goal to mentor and provide them with invaluable life and work skills.

In order for our interns to receive the best training and mentorship possible, TR is asking for volunteers who have experience in auto repair, fabrication, body and painting skills. We’ve found that when you give a little bit of your time and heart to make a positive impact in someone's life, it’s not only rewarding – it’s life-changing! Our volunteer staff will lead the next generation of young men and women and therefore we are seeking individuals to "pass the torch" as they help to keep the excitement and enthusiasm for classic cars, trucks, and bikes alive for years to come!

Nuts and Bolts

Team Restorations isn’t just about restoring classic vehicles. TR is a S.T.E.M. based program, focused on giving young people an opportunity to learn automotive maintenance and repair related skills to carry into the future.

This program is designed to team small groups with staff members and volunteers (experienced mechanics and specialized technicians) who will not only teach them the mechanic skills, but will also serve as a mentor for them. TR is about forming bonds and friendships that will help guide young men and women through life. Here at TR, individuals will learn responsibility and accountability. Integrity is key to a successful life and career. We hope to build successful futures through this program.

The entire process, from build to finish, will teach student interns invaluable skills as vehicles are completely disassembled, parts are tagged for inventory and stored in bin locations. They will learn parts procurement and ordering skills for the items needed to complete entire vehicle restorations.

The skills they are learning can be added to resumes as they learn the importance of attention to detail and how it applies in all areas of one’s life. Team Restorations offers a unique opportunity for student interns to learn the basics of metalworking, which includes sheet metal layout, cutting, bending, forming, and welding.  These skill sets present many opportunities for future employment in the manufacturing industry as well.

TR is more than your typical vehicle restoration company…we are here to make a difference in our community!

Scholarship Program

The staff at Team Restorations is in the process of developing a scholarship rewards program for student interns who have the desire and drive to continue their education and training and take it to the next level. We are currently seeking partnerships with automotive and manufacturing companies, nationwide, to help fund this incredible opportunity.

Our goal is to provide guidance and present opportunities for highly motivated young men and women who are willing to learn beyond our program. By offering a scholarship, it is our hope to help these individuals develop a strong platform of education and training that will help them in securing a promising and rewarding future in the automotive or manufacturing industry!

How To Become Involved

Team Restorations offers opportunities for many youth to become a part of our program. TR is partnering with Teen Challenge of Northern Nevada to offer their students a new outlook on life and a unique opportunity to take part in the exciting TR program. TR is coordinating with WCSD to offer our program to Inspire Academy students and hope to have that program in place for the 2019 school year. The Childrens Cabinet youth education and training program will also be be developing a partnership with us to give their interns an opportunity to be a part of TR as well. We are also working alongside the Boy Scouts of America to create an Explorer Post Program for the young men and women in the scouting programs to participate in their own restoration projects too!Our goal is to have the scouting program in place by 2019.

Students within our local area, age 16+, are also encouraged to apply and become a TR team member. Send us an email and tell us about yourself, your interest in cars/trucks/bikes, and in Team Restorations and we will get in touch with you! TR will have a limited number of spots available beginning in 2019 so please contact us at your earliest convenience.
